Abandoned children living with disability are undoubtedly the most vulnerable and neglected group of people in our society. The Butterfly House will establish a long term therapeutic care facility and a safe house for children and provide a space for supported independent living for young adults.
Butterfly Trust is a human rights intervention to provide care, therapy and protection for children with disability
Many children with physical, developmental and mental health needs living in Ghana today are unable to access affordable care and education. Parents of children with these challenges are often unable to work regular hours and therefore have little or no income and cannot provide appropriate care. Too many Children living with disability have limited chances of growing into independent, productive adults.
By supporting Butterfly Trust, we can together provide affordable care for children with various forms of disability. The project’s activities will include
early intervention services to improve development
diagnosis and therapeutic intervention
support systems for parents and families
support for the integration of children with developmental or learning difficulties into school
a long term creative and therapeutic care facility for children and young people with special needs who have been abandoned
